Well-Prepared Meals
All meals are low in salt, sodium,
and fat. A regular meal consists of a hot entree, two vegetables, milk or juice,
bread, salad, and either fruit or a dessert. A registered dietician
works closely with the program to ensure that special diets are served are
appropriate for the needs of the clients. (Click here for additional details on the 7 special
diets offered.)
Delivered by Caring Individuals
Meals are delivered between 10:30am and 1:30pm Monday
through Friday. Someone must be home to accept the meal as they cannot be
left un-refrigerated. Extra meals are to be refrigerated and reheated by the client
or their caretaker.
The Result: More Peace of Mind
Home-delivered, hot meals ensure clients receive
needed nutrition. Volunteer drivers also report observations about the client's
health and well-being to administrative staff who are in frequent contact with
clients and their caretakers. This provides emotional support and relief from
depression and fear associated with isolation.
