Our clients make us laugh, and they warm our hearts with love and friendship.  Please meet Betty, a creatively gifted individual whose strength is an inspiration to all who meet her.

Visiting Betty in her home is like stepping inside an art museum. On the walls are numerous landscape paintings that she has deftly painted herself.   As a self-taught artist, Betty paints canvases and greeting cards in her spare time.

Before signing up for Meals on Wheels, Betty had worried about whether or not she would be able to remain in her home. She also began to feel the burden of preparing her own meals.

Now, she owes her longevity and alertness to keeping as active as possible—in both mind and body—and eating well-balanced meals such as the ones she receives from Meals on Wheels.

Our volunteer drivers have commented multiple times about Betty’s passion, and her mental acumen from years spent in education. She has a fondness in her heart for our youngest of volunteers and is often imparting advice (and treats) to the children who pass through her door.

She never hesitates to express her gratitude and appreciation to our volunteers, all of whom she says are absolutely wonderful. We think she is pretty wonderful, too.
